Homestay Houston’s Classic American Homestays

What is an American Homestay?

A Homestay is an opportunity for a student who is studying English in Houston, Texas to live with an American family. The student will have the opportunity to practice his/her English in a family setting while learning about American culture and family life.

How much does it cost?

All programs require a $200.00 non refundable application fee due at the time of application. 

All programs require a damage and key deposit of $300 which IS refundable at the end of the contract in accordance with the contract. Deposit is due one week prior to the student’s arrival.

PROGRAMS

  1. $1150.00 per month is payable to the homestay family upon arrival. (14 meals per week)
    Private bedroom, shared bathroom, continental help yourself breakfast 7 days per week, dinner 7 nights each week.
  2. $ 1050.00 per month is payable to the homestay family upon arrival. (12 meals per week)
    Private bedroom, private or shared bathroom, continental help yourself breakfast 7 days per week, dinner 5 nights per week.
  3. $850.00 per month is payable to the homestay family upon arrival
    Private bedroom, shared bathroom; no food available in this program. Students can buy their food and do a minimum amount of cooking.
  4. Other programs

Each student is given a private bedroom and a private or shared bathroom and all of the necessary linens. A continental (help-yourself) breakfast and a classic American dinner are provided in accordance with the program. Program 3 does not provide food. Each student is given the opportunity to become a family member and participate in some of the family’s activities. Students have the opportunity to improve their conversational and listening skills.
