What is an American Homestay?

A Homestay is an opportunity for a student who is studying English in Houston, Texas to live with an American family. The student will have the opportunity to practice his/her English in a family setting while learning about American culture and family life.

How much does it cost?

For the first month, the cost is $850.00. This includes a $200.00 placement fee and $650.00 paid to the Homestay family upon arrival. Each month thereafter, the family is paid $650.00.

What is included in this amount?

Each student is given a private bedroom and a private or shared bathroom and all of the necessary linens. A continental (help-yourself) breakfast and a classic American dinner are provided each day. Each student is given the opportunity to become a family member and participate in some of the family's activities. Students have the opportunity to improve their conversational and listening skills.
